About the Journal
Soil & Environment (SE) is the international, open-access journal of the Soil Science Society of Pakistan. It publishes double-blind peer-reviewed research across the soil and environmental sciences, with particular emphasis on the relationships between soil, plants and the environment.
Aims & Scope
SE is devoted to advancing and disseminating scientific knowledge in all disciplines of soil and environmental science. The journal welcomes original research, reviews and short communications from Pakistan and around the world, in English. Subject areas include:
- Soil fertility and plant nutrition
- Soil chemistry
- Soil mineralogy
- Soil microbiology and biochemistry
- Soil physics
- Soil salinity and sodicity
- Soil genesis, classification and morphology
- Soil, plant and environment interactions
The journal publishes three types of paper: research articles (full-length original studies), short communications (brief, preliminary or descriptive studies) and review articles.

History
The journal was published as the Pakistan Journal of Soil Science (PJSS), with an archive reaching back to 1983, and was renamed as Soil & Environment in 2005. SE continues the PJSS volume numbering: PJSS ended with volume 23 (2004) and SE volume 25 appeared in 2006.
